Young Challengers Meeting

The GSBS Young Challengers Meeting will take place on the 6th of November 2013, the day prior to the Global Social Business Summit. It is a one day workshop for young leaders to discuss the concept of social business, network and develop own social business ideas.
The Young Challengers are also attending the Global Social Business Summit and are asking questions to decision makers about the role of social business in their countries and societies. They will challenge political leaders from around the world, get together with CEOs from global corporations and meet Prof. Muhammad Yunus personally to discuss their vision for the future.
The GSBS Young Challengers Meeting is hosted by the Yunus and You - The YY Foundation and supported by the British Council.

SOCIAL BUSINESS IDEA COMPETITION TO BECOME YOUNG CHALLENGER

We are hosting a Social Business Idea Competition in order to apply as a Young Challenger at the Global Social Business Summit 2013. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO) 73.4 million young people worldwide are excepted to be out of work in 2013, which will make a youth unemployment rate of 12.6 %. These statistics make it very clear that job creation is one of the most urgent global needs that will have to be tackeled over the next years. Therefore we want to focus the idea competition on social business ideas addressing youth unemployment.
The purpose of the competition is:
1) to generate ideas to tackle youth unemployment with a social business,
2) to apply to attend the Global Social Business Summit as Young Challenger and
3) to network with other young leaders willing to take action for today's most pressing needs.

Who can participate?

Anyone born after November 8th 1988 is invited to become a Young Challenger at the summit and can apply. The number of participants in this event is limited.
